Sing at the Scarborough Fair Collection and the Spa

August 13, 2017

Enjoy a one day excursion with Chorus Choirs singing at two of Scarborough's main attractions, The Scarborough Fair Collection and Scarborough Spa.

This day trip combines three exciting singing experiences in Scarborough starting, after a stop for bruncheon, with the enchanting magic of the Scarborough Fair Collection (fairground rides, organs and theatre organs), then singing on the Scarborough sands and finishing up at the renowned Scarborough Spa before a fish and chip supper.

The trip leaves from Manchester and also Chesterfield (incorporating Sheffield) at 7.30am and will make a further pick up at Leeds at 8.15am before heading over to Gristhorpe for brunch at 10.30am.

At midday, we shall have the opportunity to sing on the stage of the ballroom at the Scarborough Fair Collection whilst our MD, Andy Booth, will accompany us on the Wurlitzer theatre organ. Afterwards, the choir have some free time to look around the museum and experience some of the working fairground rides like the merry go round.

Following on from here, the choir will then sing on the beach at 3pm followed by free time to either walk into the town or just paddle in the sea. The choice is yours.

At 5.30pm the choir will then provide an hours concert at the Scarborough Spa, one of the countries formost seaside venues for live music (and home of the only remaining seaside orchestra in the world!)

Finally, the choir will be treated to a smashing fish and chip supper before returning by coach back to their respective cities.

What you need to know

Trips away with the choir can be a wonderful experience and we’re keen to open up the opportunity to as many people as we can. We know times are tight, so we’ve worked really hard to reduce the costs for everyone. And we can find ways to spread the cost too to make it easier for everyone – with payments in instalments.

Disabled access is limited for Winking Willy's restaurant so will result in a down stairs table with others from the choir. Sadly, they cannot offer disable toilets on the ground floor there either. All other venues are disabled friendly as are the coaches.

The choir are asked to wear their 'relaxed' uniform for the day of polo shirts with choir logos on.

Only one rehearsal will be required to sing the material for the day.

Please write on the back of your cheque what the payment is for ie. Paris/Scarborough instalment and keep a record of what you have paid
