November 25, 2017

Enjoy a one day excursion with Chorus Choirs singing at two of the Peak District's many main attractions, Eyam Church and the Devil's Arse (Peak Cavern).

This day trip combines two slightly spooky singing experiences in Derbyshire: Eyam Village and the Devil's Arse (aka Peak Cavern) in Castleton. We start with a journey to Eyam to look around the village and famous graves, followed by the first singing opportunity of the day in Eyam Church. There will then be a short trip to Hathersage to see Little John's Grave and have an evening meal, and the day will be rounded off with a chance to perform a concert down the Devil's Arse, in Castleton.

Itinerary

The trip leaves from Manchester and Leeds and will make another pick up from Sheffield before heading over to Eyam for brunch at the Yondermann Cafe at 10m. Then, at 11.30am, we shall have free time and the opportunity to walk around Eyam village, visiting the site of the start of the plague. At 2pm we shall then sing a 50 minute concert in Eyam Church. Afterwards, the choir shall move over to Hathersage to visit Little John's Grave and have some free time to look around the village.

Following on from here, the choir will then have dinner at the Little John Inn before moving over to Castleton for the evening's concert.

At 7.30pm the choir will then descend into the bowels of the Earth and provide an hour and a half concert at the Peak Cavern (Devil's Arse), one of the the few famous Blue John caverns of Derbyshire, after which the choir shall return to their respective pickup points.

What you need to know

Trips away with the choir can be a wonderful experience and we’re keen to open up the opportunity to as many people as we can. We know times are tight, so we’ve worked really hard to reduce the costs for everyone.

Disabled access is fine for all this event including the transport and caverns.

The choir are asked to wear their 'relaxed' uniform for the day of polo shirts with choir logos on. Coats should be plain black or ABP fleeces/gilets. Purple scarves only if worn.

Only one rehearsal will be required to sing the material for the day.
